MedTech Business Review: Specials Magazine

successful procedure is a carefully orchestrated supply chain that ensures sophisticated medical equipment arrives where it is needed, in perfect working condition and precisely when clinicians expect it. For medical device manufacturers, maintaining that level of consistency across hospitals, education centers, and clinical facilities presents enormous logistical challenges. JDM Operations has built its business around solving those challenges with a service model that extends well beyond transportation. Instead of simply moving equipment, the company safeguards customer outcomes through meticulous preparation, inspection, storage, and delivery. Founded by thirteen years ago, JDM Operations evolved from a consulting practice into a nationwide medical supply chain logistics provider after recognizing that many company’s struggled to sustain operational improvements independently. Rather than advising companies from the sidelines, the company created a system that permanently embedded operational excellence into customers' logistics processes. Today, with strategically positioned facilities across the U.S., JDM Operations has become a trusted extension of leading medical device manufacturers, allowing sales teams to focus entirely on serving customers while the company manages the complexities behind every shipment.

Commercialization and GPO Services

Excelerant Consulting has been named Medical Device Commercialization and GPO Strategy Service of the Year 2026, recognizing its expertise in helping medtech companies navigate complex group purchasing organization (GPO) and integrated delivery network (IDN) contracting. Excelerant helps clients understand the right contracting pathways, prepare for GPO and IDN engagement and use senior industry relationships to reach key stakeholders. GPO and IDN strategy remain the foundation of Excelerant’s business. The firm complements this with commercialization support that improves readiness for contract award, acceptance and adoption. These services include market assessment and sizing, voice-of-customer (VOC) research, value analysis committee (VAC) readiness, distribution channel selection, government contracting strategy and independent sales representative (ISR). Medical device manufacturers face significant commercialization challenges. Supply chain pressures, cost constraints, formulary standardization, SKU rationalization and complex purchasing decisions have made hospitals and health systems more selective. Even strong clinical innovations can struggle to gain traction without value analysis readiness, a clear GPO or IDN contracting strategy and the sales structure needed to drive adoption after securing access. Excelerant Consulting helps medical device and healthcare technology companies navigate these challenges by connecting GPO and IDN strategy with the strategic work required to secure market access and build revenue.

Medical Products and Consumables

KeriCure Medical is transforming wound care through advanced touch-free, multifunctional spray technologies that help clinicians and patients manage wounds more effectively from the point of injury through complete healing. It serves hospitals, wound care centers and home care settings, treating burns and pressure injuries. Beyond traditional wound management, its products are used across elderly care, dermatology, podiatry and medispas to protect vulnerable skin around ostomies, periwound areas and sites prone to skin breakdown. KeriCure Medical also supports active-duty military personnel and Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals in treating traumatic and chronic wounds. “We span the continuum of care, from injury through home-based treatment to complete healing,” says Dr. Kerriann Greenhalgh, founder and chief science officer. Integrated Solutions for Pain Relief and Healing One of KeriCure Medical’s significant innovations is Field Shield Wound Dressing, an FDA-cleared product that combines lidocaine for localized pain relief, antimicrobial silver protection and wound coverage into a single spray-on dressing. Field Shield’s touch-free application reduces direct contact with the wound, simplifying care for wound, ostomy and continence (WOC) nurses and other clinicians handling high patient volumes. The product can also be sent home, allowing patients and caregivers to continue care outside clinical settings. In addition, the application reduces dressing changes while eliminating scrubbing and dressing removal between applications, minimizing tissue disruption and skin trauma. Field Shield was developed with support from the Department of Defense for prolonged military field care and severe burn treatment. The solution has also proven effective in pediatric care, making treatment less painful for children and easier for caregivers. In one instance, a clinical coordinator partnered with KeriCure Medical to help pediatric patients who repeatedly scratched and reopened wounds during healing. After implementing Field Shield for a child who repeatedly reopened a scalp incision, the product relieved pain and itching while providing antibacterial protection and maintaining moisture balance.

Medical Device Sales

The metropolitan regions of New York and New Jersey are home to some of the nation's most influential hospitals and healthcare systems. But even top medical device manufacturers face significant obstacles in bringing innovative products to these institutions. High operating costs, dense traffic, logistical hurdles and limited market access create barriers that can prevent advanced technologies from gaining traction. In turn, healthcare providers struggle to gain products and services that improve operational efficiency and patient care. Health Concepts Partners (HCP) bridges the gap between healthcare innovation and clinical adoption through a comprehensive clinical support model. Acting as a single partner for manufacturers, it provides the reach, relationships and market expertise needed to access multiple areas of the healthcare ecosystem. This empowers manufacturers to supply healthcare systems with best-in-class solutions that lead to better patient outcomes. HCP’s portfolio is built around three core pillars of clinical excellence—surgical, spine and orthopedics. Its offerings include surgical instrumentation procurement and repair services, spine implant and biologics solutions, and a growing orthopedic and sports medicine division developed in response to customer demand. These capabilities are complemented by infection prevention and sterile processing services, extending its reach across both clinical and operational hospital functions.

Making Medical Technology Work Beyond the Product

A medical device can be highly advanced, yet its value depends on how effectively it reaches the clinical environment. Devices must perform as intended, fit existing workflows and meet the needs of providers and patients while manufacturers navigate complex purchasing and commercial relationships. This edition of MedTech Business Review examines companies addressing these challenges across logistics, commercialization, wound care and patient support.

Our cover story features JDM Operations, recognized as the Top Medical Supply Chain Logistics Services 2026. JDM stores, inspects, tests and prepares equipment before delivery, while its logistics teams assemble systems, connect components and verify functionality on arrival. Its specialized crates and quality processes also help reduce transportation damage for medical device customers.

The other recognized companies address different points along the same journey. Excelerant Consulting, recognized as the Medical Device Commercialization and GPO Strategy Services of the Year 2026, connects market access, GPO and IDN contracting with value analysis and sales execution. Health Concepts Partners, recognized as the Top Medical Device Sales Agency 2026, gives manufacturers focused access to hospitals and health systems.

KeriCure Medical recognized as the Top Skin and Wound Care Products 2026, combines pain relief, antimicrobial protection and wound coverage in touch-free applications. The United Mattress, recognized as the Top Medical Pressure Redistribution Mattress Manufacturer 2026, combines independently adjustable air cells with memory foam to provide targeted pressure redistribution without relying on an external pump.

The issue also features perspectives from leaders across the industry. Dottie Barr, Senior Vice President of Manufacturing & Technical Operations at Lantheus, discusses supply chain resilience, collaboration and keeping patients at the center of operational decisions. Derek McKenney, Vice President, Manufacturing Operations at Puritan Medical Products, reflects on how talent, communication and company culture enabled Puritan to expand manufacturing capacity during the pandemic.

The value of medical technology ultimately comes down to what happens after development. It must reach the right market, arrive ready for use and perform reliably when patients and clinicians need it. We invite you to explore these stories and discover how careful execution across logistics, commercial strategy and patient care can determine whether innovation delivers its full value.
